See! there is such a thing as upside down jellyfish! I took this picture by the way, aren't they cute! CassioPeia Xamachana is its scientific name. It can be found in shallow tropical waters and often mangrove swamps. They have a symbiotic with zooxanthellae, an algae that lives inside its tissue and provides it most of its food along with plankton. It belongs to phylum Cnidaria.

This is the jelly fish that swims in the fountain of youth...so to speak. Jelly enthusiast and people of all ages are shocked at this little baby's ability to become, well, a baby. This jelly has the ability to revert back to its polyp stage and then back to its adult stage, so it is believed to be the only animal to have found immortality. If that is the case then why haven't they taken over the world by now, if they can't die? How is this possible? Check out my blog entry (coming soon) for the answers to these and other mysteries.
